The Artists

Every tattoo at Jade Cicada begins with a conversation— and a recognition that this process means something.

The artists here approach tattooing as a practice, not just a trade. We listen carefully, design intentionally, and create space for the emotional and psychological weight that tattooing can carry.

Whether you're marking a transition, integrating an experience, or simply claiming space on your body— we're here to witness that and bring it to life with skill and care.

We work in fine line, blackwork, ornamental, dotwork, and geometric styles, with a focus on pieces that hold meaning and age with grace.

Mark Sinclair Portrait

Mark Sinclair

Founder & Artist

Mark has been tattooing for over a decade, and in that time, his work has evolved from craft into conscious practice.

He specialises in fine line blackwork, ornamental designs, and continuation pieces— but his real focus is on the space between artist and client, where collaboration becomes ceremony.

Mark approaches each tattoo as a rite of passage, a threshold marker, or a tool for psychological integration. He listens not just to what you want visually, but to what you're carrying, what you're honoring, and what you're becoming.

Based in South Brisbane, Mark founded Jade Cicada in 2025 to create a studio where intention, presence, and artistry could coexist— and where people could be met with care, not just competence.

He's also the creator of Tattoo Pathway, an educational framework that trains artists to approach tattooing as a meaningful, therapeutic, and collaborative practice.
