The Studio
Jade Cicada is a private tattoo studio in South Brisbane, elevated above the street level, right in the heart of the Southside creative precinct.
This space was built to hold the weight and significance of what happens when people get tattooed. No walk-ins. No waiting room crowds. Just you, your artist, and the process.
Natural light filters through during the day. The room is a calm and focused sanctum. Everything here is designed so the work can unfold with intention, care, at the right time. No rushing, no pressure, just presence.
We pride ourselves on the highest technical standard. To support this, we maintain a physical reference library, giving both artists and clients access to sources of inspiration away from the screen, stepping out of the external influence of social media and returning attention to internal direction and motivation.
Getting tattooed isn't always just about aesthetics. Sometimes it's a rite of passage. A marker of transition. A way to integrate loss, honour learnings, or claim ownership of your body and story.
We recognise this, and have developed methods unique to the industry to intentionally support and facilitate that process.

This isn't transactional. The conversation, the design process, the session itself, it's all part of the work. We listen and we co-create.
Privacy as Care
This is a small private studio, by appointment only. You'll only share the space with one or two others who are in a similar process on the day. Our sessions are curated to limit distraction, keeping attention in the room and in your process.
